More stories and such

Well hello everyone (wagging tail) I'm so happy to be back to report on everything that's happened over the last month since our previous post.  Geez, has it been over a month all ready?  I guess we have been busy but I have lots to tell you about and photos to show you.

So the last time I posted on the Blog, Mom had finished puppy pants in the sewing room, we were getting out to the country to see how construction was going on the silo, and, Mom was going on a trip back to Savannah, GA.  All those things have been progressing or have happened.

Mom's trip to Savannah was a lot of fun, she had lots of photos to show us and Miss Teddy told us lots of stories about all of her travels.  We all told Teddy how lucky she was that she got to go, but Teddy said that's OK because she does not get to go as many places as I do.  I was all right with that, but I really wanted to go too.

Here is a photo of Emily and Teddy showing off River Street in old Savannah.

Teddy told us everyone is really dog friendly there and all the shop owners let her come in, they even offered her dishes of water!  There was even one shop that had a "resident" Yorkie who said hi to them.  Mom took a photo because we have Yorkie readers here and they thought you would like to see a Savannah dog.

They even went on their ghost tour again with Blue Orb Tours and they said that was by far the highlight of their trip.  Mom took tons of photos hoping to catch something paranormal in them and actually did get one with a strange face.  Mom said that mostly a ghost tour is a history lesson and it's really interesting and not scary at all.  Mom even embroidered Teddy a bandanna to wear that said Blue Orb Zombies Tour and the owner of Blue Orb liked it so much he made Teddy the Mascot of Blue Orb Tours!  Mom said Teddy's an official ghost hunter now.  Teddy is so full of herself we can't stand listening to her anymore; "I'm a mascot, I'm special, I got to go and you didn't" blah blah blah.  Well, I guess I'd be rubbing it in too if it was me.  Blue Orb Tours even liked Pet Wearables on Facebook and Mom was really happy about that.

Here is the test bandanna she made to see how the logo would turn out but this was not the one Teddy wore on the ghost tour (she forgot to take a photo of it).  Mom even gave the owner of Blue Orb, Tobias McGriff, the bandanna she made for Teddy.  Mom is hoping that he will want to order some from her because he's dog friendly too.

So because Mom went away, Me, Chewie and Tuffy got to stay out at the farm for a whole week with my two doggy cousins Neeka and Mookie.  We had so much fun there that we hardly missed Mom at all.  Well, OK, we missed Mom a lot but we tried to be brave.

However I saw COWS again!  I try not to bark at them now so they don't give me the "evil eye."  I don't want to upset them but Chewie said he didn't mind upsetting them and even caused a small stampede when he barked at them. He thought it was pretty funny.

Here's a photo of a momma cow with her baby.  One day all the babies will be taken away to market and all the momma cows will cry.  We won't go to the farm when that happens so we won't be sad for them when they go.  It's just a part of farming but heart breaking nonetheless.

On a totally new topic the silo house is almost complete and Mom and Emily have started to move in and I got to help (except for when I got in trouble for eating coyote poop on the road).  The bedrooms are all painted and this week they have been getting beds/futon couches put together.  There is a screen door going on and it's really just excellent out there!  Mom made drapes for the two bedrooms and they look really good too because the rooms are bright colours.

Here is Moms (and my) room, it's pineapple yellow!  Emily's is blue with animal print and I'm going to sleep in there too but Dixie said she's coming and she's going to sleep with Em.  We'll just see about that.

The downstairs still has a little work yet.  The shelves are going to be put up over the sink this week and the fridge is still to come, something to cook on and a few odds and ends like that still have to be done.

Here is the living-room kitchen combo.  Those are the kitchen shelves standing up but you can see the corner shelves are full of the dishes and stuff now.

This is facing toward the door, Em all ready has the old TV and DVD player set up so that when the couch is there she can watch a movie!

Here is the new screen door that's going on so the flies don't fill it up inside (the flies are really bad there too).

Mom and Emily are so excited about having this little place to go to and Brian, the man that owns the farm, did such a nice job on it.  Mom said it was a lot of work and they are really proud of it.  Mom said that we are going to be there for a long time and we are all really happy about that too.

It had been a stormy day when we were there on the weekend and it rained a lot.  In the evening we took some really pretty photos of the field the silo overlooks.  Just beyond the tree line is the Buffalo River.

Then, here's the best view of all.... ME!

Our next topic of order IS, we have kitten visitors again!  Emily brought home two kittens from work to stay with us.  They don't have names yet but they both look like Moose when he was a baby.  One will be going to his new home on Monday but I don't know what's going to happen to the second.  OK, well I do know; Emily told me not to tell but he is a present for Mom because we had to have Mini put to sleep last month when she got cancer.  I told Emily I will keep it a secret for now.

I hope you have enjoyed all the photos and stories today and I will keep you updated on what's going on here and I will try to get Mom to write for me more often.

I love the farm!

I love everyone too...

Helllllooooooo everyone!

It's Bella and I'm back!  I'm sorry I've been away for so long but it's been really busy here these days and I'll tell you why.

Mom had to get some sewing orders finished she was working and so that meant most of her time was in the sewing room.  She made the cutest puppy pants ever for this little Yorkie who lives in Flordia named Buffie.  I think I would like to meet Buffie because she sure seems like a fun dog.  I'm betting I could play with her and I know she's going to be very stylish because she knows the puppy pants she wears were hand-made by Pet Wearables!

Mom's also been working on digitizing embroideries for place mats.  She even took a photo of a cat, traced it into the machine and then embroidered it out for the cat's bowls to sit on.  She said it's not her best work and it was just a test, but she's going to make some REALLY cute ones.  You can order yours by emailing her at info@PetWearables.com.

Here is the test one she did just so you get the idea.  She said this was a store-bought place-mat, she's going to make nice ones with ruffles and appliqués and stuff like that.  She can add your pets name and anything else you want as well.  These can be made for cats or dogs.  I'd like one for my dinner bowl but I know Miss Dixie would take it out in the yard and chew it all up.

Speaking of Dixie, here's a photo of Dixie and Smokey sharing the pillow.  We are running out of pillows here because Dixie keeps making little holes in the beds and pulling out all the stuffings.  Mom has to keep re-stuffing the beds and closing up all the holes she makes in them.

In other news at my house, we got some sad news recently that our cat Mini is not going to be with us for a lot longer.  Mini had a sore mouth and she was drooling and she told me it was hurting her.  So Mini had to go to the vet to get her teeth looked at and they had to take a tooth out, but that wasn't the problem.  The vet told us that Mini has cancer in her mouth and it's going to spread so she's going to pass away.  Mom is really sad about the news because her and Mini are really close.  Mini is still with us but we don't know for how much longer.  Mom said as long as she is not suffering we will keep her as long as possible.

I'm re-posting a photo of Mini so you know who I'm talking about.

On a happier note, we have been to the farm again and it is so green there now.  Most the the leaves are on the trees and it's so much fun to be there and run around like crazy.  Even Miss Marbles the farm cat and I are friends now because at first she ran away from me.  I don't think I told you why we called her Miss Marbles...  The first reason is that her coat looks like a marble with all the lines and stuff.  The second reason is that if Mom's friend can't find the cat, then we can say he lost his marbles!!!  Hahahahaaa.

Here is a nice photo that we took of her sunning herself on the front porch.

But look how pretty and green it is in the country now!  This is the front gate which I think is really cool.

The silo is progressing as well.  It's really amazing in there and the flooring is down and the stairs are almost complete.  They think it will be ready by the middle of June but it's going to be amazing when it's finished.

Here is a picture of the stairs but we couldn't go up them to see the bedrooms because they were not finished yet.  That little room is the bathroom you can see behind.

Here is the bathroom as it looks right now.

I also wanted to show you a photo of the river that runs not too far from everything.  Unfortunately we can't see it from the deck of the silo but it's easy to walk too.

This is the Buffalo River.

We counted ten turtles sunning them selves on the logs that lay in the river!

Well, I have lots more photos and things to show off about my adventures but they will have to wait for now because Mom said she wants to go and get some work done.  I even have more cow photos to show you but they will have to wait, work comes first Mom says.

I love everyone...

Hello everyone, it's me, BELLA (wagging tail like crazy).

A couple of weeks have slipped by since I got my Mom to write for me last, but the reason is that our computer was really messed up and not working. It got taken in last weekend to be repaired and while it's working much better and we can use it again, there are still a few little problems with it.  However, none of the problems are in the way of me being able to tell you my stories, so, here we go!

We have been out to the farm again over the last few weeks and now Mom's friend is living out there and we can go when ever we want.  I have gotten lots of photos to show you and the construction has begun on the silo that will be our little vacation home away from home.  There will even be a special place for us dogs to be ouside in so that if Dixie comes she can't run away when she goes out for a pee.  I never run away, I stick like glue to my Mom (beside I might find something good to roll in too so I don't want to be on a leash).

However, I don't want to get ahead of myself though because I have to show you the cows first.  The cows, once again, came to visit us and this time we didn't cause a stampede but we sure wanted too!  Instead I told Mom to get out the camera and take some pictures so I could show all my doggy readers what cows are.  They are just HUGE but they don't bark like I do, they make a moooooooo noise.  I couldn't believe my ears when that came out of one of their mouths, I really expected a bark.  Mom said not everything barks like a dog or meows like a cat, that was news to me.

So here they are coming down the yard from the upper pasture.  I love to go walking up there and we were all set to go that morning until we saw the herd coming.

They got really close to the house too and I was kind of worried they might want to come in, but Mom said they can't come past the fence.

I was looking at them and they were looking at me.  I think Cow 153 (on it's right ear is a tag number) was giving me the evil eye.  I don't think she liked me very much because she's looking at me kind of mean.  Mom said it was my imagination, what do you think?

Well the cows came and wandered all around the house and then they finally left.  They are pretty clumsey, they bang into things and stomp all over stuff.  I think it's a good idea to stay away from them.

These photos were from our visit a couple of weeks ago and I think next time I see the cows, I'm going to try and make friends, but not with that cow #153, she just looks too mean to me.

I got to go back again this past weekend because it was moving day for my Mom's friend.  All the boxes and everything arrived in a truck and I did my best to help the move go smoothly.  Here you can see what a big help I am.  I'm making sure the warm sun does not go to waste during my nap.

Well we took a walk down the road to see what was going on with the silo construction.  We are going to use the one on the left that the hunters use for now, but then once the one on the right is complete, we get to move into it.  It's being made really nice for us "girls."  There is going to be hardwood floors and a nice shower, a stove with an oven (unlike the first silo that only has a little hot plate in it).  It's going to be soooo nice and the deck is now completed across to our new silo and the door has been cut out too!

Here's the piece that was cut out for the door, it was really big.

Here is what it looks like inside right now.  The sub flooring is down and the center beam to support the upstairs flooring is in, but it does not look like much yet.  Mom and Emily are so excited about it.  Here I am modelling the flooring that's in there right now.

Here is looking up into the top of the grain bin (a.k.a. Silo) and beam is the upstairs floor support.  There will be two bedrooms up there (I think) and Mom is taking a sewing machine with her to keep there so that she can work for Pet Wearables when she's there too.

It's hard to imagine what it will be like when it's all done, but all the walls will be covered and you won't recoginze the place.

Here is a photo of the first silo inside that the hunters use and you can see it's all covered up.

I will keep you all updated on the progress of the new silo and how it's coming.  Mom and Emily even got a fire place for it.  Well, it's not a real fire place but it looks like one, it makes heat and even has fake flames!  I can't wait to nap in front of that!

It was such a pretty day today and it's been so warm that all the bulb flowers are in bloom.  Mom took a few pretty photos of them and I made sure they smelled good after.  So for those of you who like flowers here are some really pretty ones.

So now we are back home again and we miss being out in the country and wish we were still there.  If this warm weather keeps up all the leaves will be coming out on the trees and it's going to look really different there when that happens.

Mom said that shes got lots of sewing to do this week and she said if she makes good progress we can go out again this coming weekend because it will be the last time she gets three days off in a row.  I'm all ready excited to go back.

However, some things never change around here at our house. Miss Dixie said that since we got to go to the country and she didn't; she was going to bring some country in the house so she could enjoy some too.  I think Dixie found some grass to roll in.  I think Dixie is so funny.  Mom said that Miss Dixie is a mess.

Mom feels sorry for Dixie because so far I'm the only dog who has been allowed to go to the country.  Mom said that if Dixie behaves that she can go next weekend too.  I'm not sure I like that because *I* won't be the center of attention.  Well, I guess I can share with Dixie, but I don't have to like it!

See you next time for more country adventures!

I love everyone...

Another Weekend Away!

Hi there everyone, it's Bella again with more exciting news than ever!

We got to go away to the farm again this weekend and it was so exciting, we even caused a cow stampede when the cows came to visit out behind the fence!  Me, Mookie and Neeka sure told them a thing or two and they all took off running.
The man who is renting the house said we could come and spend the weekends as much as we wanted to before he moves in.  I have to tell you that I just love it there and I got to run all over the place and sleep in the bed under an electric blanket.  If you ask me, I think that was really the best part but I did do other things too, for example, here I am laying on a pillow in front of the fire.

We all heard an amazing thing the first night we were there; Coyotes howled back and forth across the hills so much they sounded like wolves.  I really wanted to sing with them, but I was a little scared and stayed in the house. It was pretty amazing to find out there are wild dogs there, but Mom said they are not dogs like me, they are a lot different and they would not be safe to play with. That's OK though because we will never be out alone so they won't be able to get us.

In the morning we sat outside in the sun on the font porch just listening to the quiet because it's so far away, you don't hear cars or anything.  The sun was warm and nice and it felt really good.

The day was really relaxing and we waited for my human sister Emily and her friend to come and visit because the man who owns the farm has a Silo that he converted into a place to live, so they were coming to see it.  Mom said that because it's so cheap that we could rent it and have our own weekend place to go when we weren't going camping.  The coolest part is there is a second silo that he is going to convert into a place just for us.  It's going to have hardwood floors and it's going to be cute like the house is.  So in the mean time we will use the other one and then when the new one is completed, we can move over into it.  We will get the silo starting in May for the summer and there is even a place to swim in the big river!

So that's my Sister Emily on the right and her friend on the left.  The first silo house is kind of rough inside because it does not have a stove, just a fridge and microwave and it was designed for hunters to use. It's not very pretty in there, just functional with two bedrooms upstairs. Emily said they can put up with it until the new one is finished.

However, when the other one is done, it's going to be perfect!  Mom said she's going to take one of her sewing machines out there so she can work when she's away.  They plan to spend a lot of time ouside and there is also a great place for swimming and canoing nearby too on the Buffalo River.  Emily says they need an ATV to get around because there is miles of land and trails to ride on.

So May is when we officially get to take over the Silo and we are really hoping the other one is finished by then so we can move into it, but I guess we have to wait and see.  One thing's for sure, it's going to be much nicer than the original one.

It's going to be a couple of weeks before we can go back there again because next weekend Momma said she's got sewing to do.

Well that's all for now, stay tuned for our next adventure!

I love everyone...

Another Road Trip

I have been such a busy dog the last couple of weekends my sniffer is all worn out!

Yesterday, my doggy cousins and I got to go on yet another road trip, but this time we stayed here in Tennessee.  We were really happy that Momma took the Tahoe this time because we (Mookie, Neeka and Me) were able to lay all over the back and no one threw up this time (that means Me).

Here we are just laying around the truck enjoying the ride!

It was about a two hour drive and we went to the area where Mom found Miss Teddy four years ago when she was an abandon little puppy.  The area is called Natchez Trace and it's a very wild spot with lots of trees (Mookie liked that a lot because he said he's going to need time to pee on them all).  At one point we got off on the wrong road and had to make a turn around on the grass.  Mom had to put the truck in four-wheel drive because we almost got stuck.  It was fun and exciting, we thought we were going to have to all get out and push!  However, Momma got us out and just laughed and said her Daddy didn't raise no wussie girls!

Finally, we arrived at this farm that has a big river flowing in front of it.

We got to see the cutest house and sniff all over the place.  BUT, the most exciting part is that come March the first, we can go and visit whenever we want to because Momma's friend has rented it.  We are all very excited because it's just so pretty there and I got to run all around and see everything.

Here is the photo Mom took of the house and she asked me to go and sit up on the steps but I was too busy to model and show the house.

Here's what I was doing, sniffing...

Still sniffing...

Mom called me back and being the "Velcro dog" I am, I came running (besides, I don't want to miss any treats if they are being handed out).  We got to go inside and it's just sooooooo cute!

We also got to see out in the back yard too and there are a few out buildings that were used for things like chickens.  Mom said that we can get some chickens for fresh eggs and have a garden there too but we will have to keep the cows out of it that wander around. I can't wait to get to smell a chicken and a cow (not that I'm even sure what a Chicken is but I'm sure it will be fun).  Mom said I'd have to be careful not to get my nose pecked.  Here is picture for all you dogs who don't know what one is in case you are reading.

Here is how the back looks!

It was a very exciting day and when I got home last night, all of my doggy brothers and sisters sniffed me over good, but I was really tired after such a busy day of smelling new smells, all I could do was sleep.

Today I'm ready for new adventures but Mom said she's going to be working in the sewing room today and tomorrow so I'm going to rest up for my next adventure!

I love everyone...

Road Trip!!

It's Bella here (wagging tail furiously) I am so excited to tell you about my road trip I got to go on with my two doggy cousins Neeka and Mookie!  My Mom's friend is looking for a country place to live so we decided to take a road trip to a different State called Kentucky.  I didn't know there were other things called "States" but we had to be in the car for a long time driving to get there.

I have to tell you that the car was OK but when we got off the main interstate we were on twisty roads and my head started to not feel so good.  When we finally arrived and the place, my head was really feeling dizzy and my tummy didn't feel very good.  The lady came and met us at the car to say hello and when Momma took me out, I threw up right on the driveway in front of the lady.  I felt so embarrassed but the lady said, "it's OK, I had a dog once too and sometimes the car made her feel bad."  Once I did that, I felt much better and I really enjoyed the warmth and sun we I got out of the car.

So then, me and my doggy cousins got to wander all over and smell all the new smells.  The cabins were really cute and I would like to visit there again, but I don't think we will be.

This is one of the cabins we got to go in.

Momma said they wouldn't be good for our friend to live in because they are too small.  We all told Mom we would like to go there for a weekend because it was so quiet and pretty!

The very best part of our trip was when we went for LUNCH!  We found this little town and there was a place with a nice outdoor patio for us to all sit together and eat so we didn't have to wait in the car or anything.

Momma asked me if I was hungry, I just looked at her and thought, "what do you think, I'm wasting away ya know!"

Then she said to Neeka, are you hungry too?

Neeka was all ready licking her lips because she could all ready smell the food.

Mookie said he just wanted to wait and see what came out to eat.

I decided I was going to wait at the table like everyone else.

Well we all got to have some hamburger meat and it was soooooo gooooood!

When lunch was over, it was time to get in the car again for the long drive home.  We were all so tired after our outing the three of us slept in the back seat the whole way home.  Momma and her friend said all that fresh air must have been too much for us.

I hope you enjoyed reading about our trip to Kentucky; today we are back in the sewing room because Mom is back to sewing a big order of belly wraps.

I love everyone...
